Maritime Authority Opens the Vessel Register

The Maritime Authority of the Velocity Interoperability Network today announced that the Vessel Register opens for applications on Monday 7 September 2026. Every vessel of four metres or more in length, or fitted with an engine, that is kept in the waters of the Network or owned by a member organisation or citizen must be entered on the Register. Registration fees range from 40 credits for a pleasure craft under twelve metres to 1,200 credits for a cargo vessel or tanker, with an annual renewal fee of half the registration fee in every class. Vessels in classes B to F are surveyed before first registration and at intervals thereafter; pleasure craft under twelve metres are registered on the owner's declaration and are not surveyed unless an inspection finds cause.

During the transition period, member organisations transferred the lists of vessels they kept before establishment. The 1,284 vessels on those lists have been carried onto the Register as provisional entries. Owners are asked to confirm their entry, without charge, by 30 November 2026; entries not confirmed by that date will lapse.
