Maritime Authority of the Velocity Interoperability Network Established

The Maritime Authority of the Velocity Interoperability Network has been formally established. The Authority is responsible for the safety of navigation in the waters of the Network, for the registration of vessels belonging to member organisations and citizens, for the lights, buoys and marks that guide vessels through those waters, and for the survey and inspection of registered vessels.
With its establishment complete, the Authority today launches its official website at maritime.gov.vin. The site carries press releases and official statements, the Navigation Safety Regulations 2026, the Notices to Mariners in force, the register of aids to navigation, and guidance on registering a vessel and arranging a survey.
The opening of the Vessel Register, the entry into force of the Navigation Safety Regulations and the Authority's first statistical release are the subject of separate announcements published today. Harbour byelaws for Southbank Harbour and a safety scheme for small craft will be announced in the Newsroom once they are settled. General enquiries may be sent to contact@maritime.gov.vin.
